About ten youngsters from two couples are currently flying around, unfortunately among the seagulls due to not feeding the young. They are still young birds so it takes some time for them to get used to it. At the moment there are 4 youngsters of natural brood. A few pictures of the youngsters moulting.
This one is starting to look similar.
Clearly a young singing man.
Two men ready for the coming breeding season. They are separated from the dolls and are looking forward to it. When the temperature is around 15 degrees they can try it in the breeding cages, which will be around the end of March.
Took a few pictures of the brown breasts today, they are now in the flight where they will stay for the coming months.
I have noticed that they are already showing territorial behavior, the males in particular are regularly fighting with each other. But let's see if it goes well, otherwise take it apart.
Today I went to WR in Beuningen and got two beautiful couples with brown breasts.
The birds survived the trip well, more than an hour and a half in a transport box is not nothing, but they look great. Still a bit of molting, but in a few weeks they will be completely ready. Immediately upon arrival they were placed in a spacious breeding cage where they will stay for the coming weeks. Once they have been properly acclimatized, they can continue to get used to one of the flights.
It's always difficult when you are asked "anything else" in the supermarket, you think it's completely normal, but when a birdwatcher asks you have to be strong enough to say no. I succeeded, just brought a nice belt with me split for creme ino, nice.
I will put them on record in the coming weeks.
At the request of the breeder, I took a few pictures while they were still in the breeding cage. The free flight takes better photos.
